Plagiarism
Ok so the same day that we had the interview with Andy Netley we also had a talk on plagiarism. Which I must admit i have clearly done some of in the past. I didn't quite know how much there really was to it. And the minerva site seems pretty clever in making sure you haven't cheated so don't think I will be trying to beat the system anytime soon.

Interviewing Andy Netley
Today we were given the chance to interview Andy Netley, a decorated editor who has worked on such projects as Amazon and Planet Earth. He is freelance much like most editors. He told us a bit about why he became an editor and he gave us some advice on what we can do to try and get into the industry, which i found out at the end of the interview was very little. The way to get into the business is to be cutthroat. Use every contact you have, do as many short films as you can and try and get them out in the open. Andy was very helpful as I one day would like to be an editor.
He then went on to say tell us that the best way to get a job as an editor is to be good at storytelling and to be able to link the images together in order for the viewer not to realise that the peice they are watching has not been edited at all. That is the true mark of a good editor.
